August EP650R Bluetooth Wireless Stereo Headphones

Hi guys I’ve spent the last week testing out some Bluetooth headphones from August International, the EP650R and the R stands for red.

First off, as you can see from the above photo it comes in a variety of colors, because not everyone wants flat black and chrome.
Straight out of the box it is ready to use and although I had a little trouble with the initial set up which I’m sure was a result of my long list of paired devices, it was really simple from then on, the controls are beautifully designed and in respect to the device itself, however practically not so much.

Although they layout is easily layed out and thankfully situated in one area there is no way to distinguish which button is what once they were on my head, it took a lot of remembering and many skipped tracks to finally get the configuration nailed, and in my opinion just a little bump (like the one on the number five of your TV remote control) to let me know this is skip forward or volume up would have been brilliant but i was able to overcome.
I did find that the headset was extremely comfortable and worthy of mid range status for its style but did find my ears did start to get quite warm after about two hours non stop listening, i would avoid the gym with this set but for commuting or general use these will really do the job and with a charge time of around two hours you can enjoy about ten hours of music or for as long as your device battery lasts.

Now, folded up they obviously loose some of the strength but do allow for better storage in the August bag (sold separately) which is a bonus compared to other headsets but the lack of the bag is a bit of a disappointment for me as it’s price tag of £39.95 GBP or $61.49 USD down from £67.45 GBP or $103.81 USD should account for it.

As for the sound, like many of us my phone was my portable music device that I linked the headset to, I have a rooted HTC One M8 and i have the Dolby Digital Plus software installed for a crisper sound and the August E650 handled it like a dream and after a little while I had forgotten that they were Bluetooth and wireless, I found that the bass was just right and not over done and never crackled once, I did find during some of the higher notes there was faint crackling but nothing too alarming.
