Breach & Clear – Review

That’s right folks Rainbow Six for Android is now out, but its called Breach & Clear and legally has nothing to do with Rainbow Six whatsoever. There is literally so much to go over with this game, that  I apologise in advance for missing anything.

Breach & Clear gives you control over a tactical team, from the type of guys of guys they are, to the jobs they perform on the team and the weapons and gear that they use. This is one of those games, where you need a couple of tutorial missions to get to grips with the controls and ultimately the goal of the game. Like the game itself, these training missions give you everything and by the end of it, you’ll be chucking your mates into a room shouting Go! Go! Go! Breach & Clear is not a pick-up and play game, you can spend up to ten minutes customizing your team for each mission, and training up on the best way to breach the room.

Playing through Breach & Clear you’ll notice that you control each individual member on your team, your telling them where to and who to shoot. If you don’t like the look of a guy in the corner, then you can throw a flash-bang at him and blind him. I liked the fact that playing through the levels you also gain one-time use consumables for some missions to help you complete them, including UAVs, breach charges, and a defibrillator to revive a dead soldier. Playing this game right will mean a lot of dedication, and you can find yourself playing the same level after 25 minutes. There’s no shortage of content on this game, but Breach & Clear does tease us, with a lot of “Coming Soon” messages, meaning people will keep coming back after each upgrade.

Starting the game, you have to purchase one “team” of guys, upon completing missions you can go back and purchase more teams including, Navy SEALs, Army Special Forces, Army Rangers, JTF2, and SAS. This is just a part of the customization component of the game. All weapons and gear are purchased from the market with money you earn from missions or from IAP’s. As you move through the game you will obviously need better gear, so you can buy attachments for your weapons and equip them in the workbench screen, this is where you can also customize the colour of your weapons.

This game has so much to offer, but I will admit it takes a while to get into it. For £1.28 you get a great game, which does look like a Rainbow Six game for Windows 98. I tested this on my HTC One, but to enjoy in full grab it for the tablet. On the Nexus 7 this just looks amazing, and offers another dimension to the game play.

You can grab the game below:
