CloudMagic – Review

Can anyone remember K9-Mail, that used the be the one app you always downloaded. CloudMagic is taking over that mantle and I feel should be the next big mail client. People have even mentioned including it in Cyanogenmod version, which personally I agree with. To be honest the only thing I don’t like is the name, doesn’t make you think mail client, but apart from that CloudMagic should be the next thing you download.

CloudMagic - Review 1CloudMagic has been developed with the user in mind and has made it easy to add an array of email account to it. Basically becoming the one app you need to install, instead of having a YahooMail, Outlook.com and POP3 mail clients, you can have one place where all emails are recieved. Im loving the gmail app, so havent replaced that yet. But I absoultly hate the outlook.com email client and im not a massive fan of the Sense default mail client either.

CloudMagic did all the work for me and took about 4 mins to add two different email accounts. CloudMagic has two massive selling points, one is its ease of use, the other is the look and feel. Gone are the clunky, aged functions of the sense mail app. You now have access to swipe gestures, notification actions, and an up-to-date look and feel. The app feels a lot like the new gmail app and I feel thats a deliberate comparison. It has a swipe up to refresh function, and left swipe on mail to archive or delete.

When you get an email through you can now quickly read it, mark it as read or delete, all without having to open the app in the first place. Now remember this is not a gmail replacement, this is a replacement for all the other mail apps we have to download. Performance wise, I had no real issues. The emails downloaded and appeared on my phone, and it didn’t seem to have knock on effects.

Another great part of this app is the help section, if there is any error, then just tap on it. It will then bring you to the relevant section of the help document. This will explain what the problem is and possible fixes.

Its free, grab it! Anyone who uses a 3rd party mail client should give this a go. It has a great look and integrates with most mail options that I can think of.
