Floating Touch – Review

Floating Touch – Review

Touch is a button that floats on your screen over other apps, and you can move it anywhere. Floating Touch contains most commonly used switches of Android system and all installed apps, you could control your device or open your favourite app easily without exiting current app.

Applications that float seem to be the in-thing, right now. We  reviewed a soft keys app just recently and features like Paranoid Android’s Holo and even Pie controls could be a shining example of this. Floating Touch gives you quick access to whichever app / setting you need straight from the pointer that’s always available. Tap to open then tap to launch your predefined shortcut. (For the life of me I couldn’t find a way to add my app drawer) Floating Touches gives you an incredible amount of options to customise as you so desire.

  • Clear memory
  • Back/Home button
  •  Favourite apps
  • Recent apps
  • System switches
  • Screen brightness
  • Ring mode
  • Bluetooth
  • Wifi
  • GPS
  • APN(Mobile network)
  • Rotation
  • Flashlight
  • Airplane mode

When used with an Expanded desktop experience (which is widely available on custom ROMs) you’ll gain the full reward of what this application is about. Although I found swiping the launch icon to press back or home a little cumbersome or unusual for such a standard thing to do on a device. It adds an extra touch to something so simple and I really had to train my reflex memory to not automatically go to the bottom of the screen. Maybe if you were to set-up your wheel differently, possibly for launching your music app and customise with volume up and volume down keys, you’d find this even more rewarding. I’d even say making the most of custom folders, which you have to pay for the pro version, one could find a million uses. On a side note.. To add recent apps and back buttons you’ll need root permissions but don’t be put off by not having root on your device. Use all the other options available.

Below you’ll see an example, in use and below that again the link for download, which is free. An In App Purchase is available to unleash the full customisation experience of pointers, folders etc etc…
