Heads Up – Android App
Although not revolutionary, Heads Up offers a fantastic popup message from your apps installed and displays the content in a very clean and organized manner. It does one job only, but, it does it the best (that I’ve used anyway.)
Perfect when you’re gaming or watching a movie on your phone or tablet, you can see the message and just swipe to dismiss if it’s not that important to stop you getting pass the boss on this level or watching the last 10 minutes of Game Of Thrones. Actually there are a few customisation options present, if you’re looking to tweak to your own individual needs. Your device doesn’t need to be rooted but you’ll have to grant permission to access your notifications. A few months ago I personally used an Xposed Module to have this kind of feature, now you can have this very clean popup while you are using stock or Cyanogen Mod custom ROM. Paranoid Android PA implement their own kind of display like this so I’d be fairly confident using both could lead to some funny business. Best avoid if you use PA then.
Heads Up is open sourced with In App Purchases which are used to donate to the developer. (You can see this option on the forth screen shot above.) I would certainly recommend using the application for a few days first then buying the developer an ice cream or a coffee, heck, buy the guy a sound system if you’re feeling really generous. Heads Up you had one job to do and you do it very very well. Zero issues here and I enjoy the way my notifications are displayed to me. Maybe anyone reading this will too.
