Jammy Lizard Luxury Leather Wallet Case Review

Jammy Lizard Luxury Leather Wallet Case Review

Jammy Lizard market this as the ultimate luxury case with water resistant full-grain style leather finish and high quality stitching.  It’s a wallet style case made from PU leather with card slots, designed to be the perfect fit for your Samsung Galaxy S4.  The hard polycarbonate inner case secures your phone giving it total protection and shock resistance.

Build Quality

As an inexpensive case I had to do a double take when removing this case from the packaging.  Jammy Lizard weren’t joking when they branded this a luxury case – the leather is really nice and easily compares to other premium cases I’ve tried.

Design

If you’ve read some of my previous reviews of cases you might be aware that I’m a fan of these wallet style cases.  They offer good protection and mean I don’t need to carry a separate wallet.

This case has slots for 3 cards which are really well made and easy to add or remove cards.  Behind them there is also a pocket for carrying notes.  All port and button cut-outs are well positioned and allow easy access.  The case can also function as a stand with the phone in a horizontal position.

The magnet clasp for holding the front cover in place is unfortunately really weak.  Designed to reduce the width of the case by not having the clasp wrapping around the back, it consists of a small flap at either side with magnets that slide together when closed.  Any kid who has played with strong magnets knows that they are much easier to slide apart than pull apart.  This is okay when the case is empty, but as you load it up with cards or notes it becomes less capable of staying attached.  3 cards with no notes is about the limit before the clasp stops being useful.

In Use

Wallet cases are a little bulky by nature, but I wouldn’t consider this an overly bulky or heavy case – especially considering it includes so many pockets and a stand.  The shiny leather isn’t as grippy as some but definitely beats the naked phone and does feel good in the hand.

Price

There’s currently a 15% off offer on this case making the price just £6.33.  This is an absolute steal for a case of this quality.

Overall

I was really impressed by the quality and price point of this case, and if it wasn’t for the weak clasp I’d be giving it the full 5-star rating.  For me the main appeal of this type of case is that it protects your screen, and with this the risk of the front cover opening exposing the screen during a fall is just too damn high.  However if you want this type of case but don’t need to carry many cards or notes, then it does come highly recommended.  It’s available in a wide selection of colours (along with many other cases for Samsung phones) from the link below…
