Mobie – Review

Lets face it, the mobile phone is one, if not the most important device you will ever own. This makes it vital to keep it alive and secure for as long as possible. There are a variety of apps available, most don’t do everything and the ones that do are cumbersome and hard to use. Mobie is the Swiss army knife of apps. It has an array of tools, that allow you to easily keep your phone, safe, secure and up to date. But the major difference to other apps is the introduction of a clean, unobtrusive interface that even a cat could use.

I’m loving Mobie, it offers a number of tools ranging from battery health to data usage. The official list of available tools is comprised of a mobile security feature, Anti-theft support, power management, memory optimizer, app recommendation support and of course the data usage analyser. The app is free and the recommendation engine appears to recommend apps that I wouldn’t ever need, which leads me to believe this is where they make their money. Apart from that, the entire app seems built to give you as much information as possible in a clear way.

Mobie is good, but its great when you allow it analyse your usage. After a period of time, the app starts to send you notifications telling you to charge, as it knows you wont make it home after work. This may seem a little stalker ex-partner, but I feel safer knowing something is looking out for me. There is very little input needed for Mobie, simply install it and leave it to do its thing, it will display all the relevant information and after a while will start to notify you.

When you open Mobie, your presented with an area that you can swipe down on, allowing you to skim through all the relevant bits of information. You can then tap the information to get a more detailed look. You also get a couple of additional settings such as changing the background image/colour.

After some testing Mobie hardly leaves any footprint, and offers a lot of benefits. As I own a rooted phone I use an app called Greenify, this offers a lot of the same protection. But if your phone isn’t rooted, then Mobile should be installed when you get a chance.
