Quadropus Rampage – Review

Ahhh the humble quadropus.  Eh?  What’s a quadropus I hear you ask?  I don’t know either but I suspect it’s a more easily animated four-limbed version of the Octopus invented by the guys at Butterscotch Shenanigans.

The plot line of this game revolves around the King of the Sea wanting to invade the land above, and so you must guide Tack the Quadropus deeper and deeper through the levels to reach him with the help of your pet starfish.

Gameplay involves running around a tiled floor wacking the aquatic army of the sea with your weapon.  You start with the Joyful Racket Of Friendship, but can pick up a variety of other imaginatively named weapons such as the Manly Chopsticks Of Hairlessness, the Glorious Lava Sword Of Cardiac Arrest and the Warped Twit Of Pantsplosions.

You have use of a bubble shield, a quick dash button and a jump / smash button which can all be upgraded as you earn (or buy) more orbs.  You’ll also need to navigate around holes in the floor, although falling into one doesn’t necessarily mean death – you’ll just progress down to the next level at the expense of your health.

5
Slowly upgrading your abilities keeps things interesting and this free game is perfectly playable without in-app purchases, although you do have that option if you’re struggling.

6
Although the gameplay is relatively simple, with it’s wacky humour throughout (such as saying “Oh F***!” when you die) it never fails to entertain.  How could it fail with a name like Quadropus Rampage?  Download for free from the Play Store link below.
