Review: Angry Birds 2

It goes without saying that the Angry Bird franchise is pretty much the most successful franchise to date and it was only a matter of time until the sequel to the most successful out of them all was going to happen , now the wait is over and they are here.
But is it worth your precious memory ? And is it worthy of the Angry Birds name ?

The formula which made the original such a success has been fine tuned into a very well polished piece of eye candy and a few extras have been thrown into the mix, the first thing that I did noticed was how much smoother my experience was, beautiful graphics throughout which even for the individual who really does not care would make them stand back and notice , if you guys remember the first the wood would crack etc before fully breaking, well that’s still there but the physics are so much smoother, more refined and what rovio have done is utilize your screen better for example, original angry birds would attack the pigs, the pigs would fall or pop that’s it done and dusted, angry birds 2 the pigs will seem to come flying at you the user, in what seems to be an attempt at artificial 3D, but it works.

The birds themelves have been replaced with a card system which if you manage to accumulate enough points in the round will replenish one card at a time within that round and the rounds have changed for the better with multiple sub rounds for example level 1-1 might have two sub levels making it level 1-1.1 and 1-1.2 which in the grand scheme gives you a bucket load of levels.

The introduction of timed lives means you may not be addicted it does have facebook link to invite your friends and see which of you is the better player, as many games that do the circuit now in app purchase are included and start from 79 pence ( just over one US dollar ) for gems to keep your game going although I did find it wasn’t essential ,another feature which has been introduced is a fast forward button to speed up the transition between sub levels and end of levels and if I was completely honest possibly my favorite as it reminds me of old vhs fast forward (you older guys and gals know what I’m talking about ).

Rovio have also implemented new power ups like the golden duck, and a new bird which I won’t give any details as it does spoil your experience, all in all I have really enjoyed this version of the angry bird family and have already sent invites out to my friends on facebook and I do urge you all to give it a try it’s free after all and I honestly believe it will stay in the top ten on the playstore for a long time.

Please use the links provided and as always leave your comments below, let me know which is your favorite new feature or what would you like to see removed ?
