Review: Booq Viper Hardcase 7 Graphite

Booq are well known for their backpacks and laptop bags, and it looks like they are putting their experience in these fields into a tablet carry case. Booq is now offering a hard case for the any 7″ to 8″ tablet, such as my Nexus 7. The Booq Viper Hardcase 7 comes in graphite with a heavy-duty zip. Along with any 7″ sized tablet, the internal pockets allow you to carry your passport, notepad etc.

The Booq Viper Hardcase 7 is designed for most 7″ or 8″ tablet on the market, I tested with my Google Nexus 7 and it worked great. I also tested with a friends Samsung Galaxy Note 8, and Amazon Kindle Fire HD both fitted in with no issues. The exterior of the case is made with 1680D nylon with molded high-density foam to provide shock protection, and there are three ribs on each side to add extra impact protection. It screams cool, and would almost be something batman would protect his bat-tablet with. The exterior fabric has water-repellant coating so the occasional dribble of rain won’t have any effect.

The Booq Viper Hardcase 7 has a rock hard exterior but inside its all soft and padded. Both sides on the inside are made from a stretchy fabric for its pocket lining. The tablet section has a meshed back so it’s easy to slide the tablet in or out. The case has two heavy-duty YKK zips and I must say the unzipping experience is incredibly smooth. The spine of the case, has been reinforced with leather, as this would be the part that gets put through the most strain. With all the protection you get, its also incredibly light.

Opposite to the tablet compartment there are three compartments including a same sized pocket as the one that holds the tablet which you can store a passport, notepad or any important documents. There are also two smaller sized pockets that can hold a phone and business cards/credit cards. Though I did have to take off my M8s case, as the small pockets could only store it naked or in a non-bulky shell case.

If you’re looking for a sturdy case to carry your 7″ or 8″ tablet when traveling, then the Booq Viper Hardcase 7 is top of the list. It’s really well protected, its sturdy and made from a water resistant material. Its incredibly well made with strong stitching, reinforced spine and strong zips. The overall design, also means you’ll look good carrying your tablet and/or phone. The case has excellent shock and impact protection, ideal for those who travel with their tablet.
