Review: Ringke Fusion case for the ASUS Zenfone 2

With the ASUS Zenfone 2 being fairly new on the market, there isn’t a vast range of accessories available just yet. You’ll find the usual type of Chinese made cases on Ebay or Amazon that cost a few pounds but take two weeks to arrive. (We’ve all ordered’em before, they do what you need them to do.) What attracted me to the Ringke Fusion was the package includes the case it’s self, a screen protector and you can insert any picture you want as an inlay. I own the red version of the ASUS Zenfone 2 as you can see in the picture, I went for a clear case to show of the device’s colour more than anything.

The Ringke Fusion offers precise cut outs so you can access the volume rocker at the rear, the power button on the top and a large cut out for the speaker grill across the bottom back. The 3.5mm jack on top has a pop out cover that might annoy some or even break off after a long period of time, but, for me it stays in until I decide to plug in some headphones.

Although the Ringke Fusion is manufactured in TPU which the item description mentions absorbs the shock and the four-point rear defenders on the back keep your phone protected. The case does fit very snug which is a good thing. When set face down, the screen doesn’t touch the flat surface thanks to the lipped edge around the front side.

I’m very pleased to report after an accidental drop test from waist high onto kitchen floor tiles, there were zero marks anywhere on the device or screen. A slight scuff to the case it’s self buffed out with a cleaning cloth.

The screen protector included is the standard type we’ve all seen before too. Pull the two tabs and make sure that you have removed any lint or dust first. I applied the protector perfect after the second attempt, whatever bubbles that were under I got pushed to the edges and the next morning I was completely bubble free.

We mentioned the DIY part earlier. Maybe, if you’d prefer to have a picture of your kids eating ice cream on the beach or your dog reading a newspaper, the instructions are included to do so. All very simple to understand, just cut around the template or if you get really stuck, there’s a QR Code which takes you to a video tutorial.

We’d certainly be more than happy to recommend the Ringke Fusion case for the ASUS Zenfone 2. You’ll get the three included parts and the case it’s self offers the protection you need if the worse thing happens. (Which actually did when I was reviewing the accessory.)

We’ve provided the links to purchase below..
