Review: S6 Edge cases from Verus

Review: S6 Edge cases from Verus

Yes, I am still rocking the S6 Edge, that is until the new Nexus comes out. So I have looked into some more cases, and thought I’d go back to Verus. I was really impressed by the other cases they did so wanted to see what new cases they had bought out.

Case 2Link Series

The 2Link case is technically no different then a lot of the “two section” cases that are about the place, but I found the 2Link to be a little different. From the outside, it looks like it is one solid case, but the bottom section of the case actually pulls out which is how you get your phone inside. The case is ultra-thin and ultra-lightweight, yet it provides, a good level of protection including the lip on the top and bottom to protect the screen when its face down.

To insert your phone, you simply detach the bottom piece of the case, slide your phone in, then re-attach the bottom piece of the case. The cutouts and curves of the case are very precise, so at times I forgot the case was on the phone.

The plastic has been treated, giving it a non-slip feel, its incredibly subtle. But when using the phone without the case, you notice how much grip it offers. This is currently my daily driver and a great case.

Thor Active Series

The Thor Active case is made of three separate pieces. The first is the inner section made from rubber, it has reinforced and thicker edges. Attached to that is the outer hard plastic shell. The shell is there to encase the rubber shell, and I would think to give it a more familiar feel. The case then attaches to a belt clip to allow you to wear the phone/case on the outside of your person.

All of the cutouts and buttons are precise and line up perfectly. The case is slim and light, but still gives you that secure feeling. The rubber protection on the edges doesn’t look that great, but it’s a huge advantage towards shock absorption. It also allows you to place the phone screen down, and have a nice bit of gap.

Finally there’s the Active portion of this case, the belt clip. Like most belt clips, this will connect onto your belt, jacket, bag, or any other thin surface you could think of. It’s made from hard plastic and rotates 180 degrees. One advantage/disadvantage is that I found it difficult to clip the phone in and out. This is a good thing if you are mvoing about and don’t really want the phone to drop out. It’s a bad thing as when my phone rings, I have to fumble to get it my ear.

This is an excellent case for drop protection while being thin and lightweight.

Wallet Case Layered Dandy Diary Series

Out of the box I was impressed by the look and feel of this case. Though I know a lot of people may not link the fact the phone is completely hidden, but this is needed to allow you to store your cards in the front.

Attaching the S6 Edge to this Verus case was as easy as clipping it into the corners. I really liked the addition of the magnetic hold, so the case is kept closed and isn’t going to just open by itself. The case is very durable, I brushed it up against walls, and floors and it didn’t wear down or show any sign of stress. The added bonus of using it for a stand is awesome and means movie watching on the train got a bit better.

Though I am not a fan of card cases for phones, its a great case to go out with, as everything is secure and together.

Wallet Case Crayon Diary Series

I really liked the style of this case. The PU leather is smooth and great to look at, while the stitches give it the illusion of premium materials. This looks like something you’d find in a bookshelf and is a far cry for the futuristic look of the S6 Edge itself.

There is no magnetic lock, so the case will just open if it has the chance to. Card storage is a convenience and not really a feature for a phone case.

The kickstand bend feels to me like overtime would cause some wear and tear, but it is a little too early to call it. I feel this case is the more distinguished gentlemen, who wants to maybe hide the fact they have a Samsung.
