Review – SUMMIT Vaporizer

Review – SUMMIT Vaporizer

I have tried to get into vaporizing for a while now, but found myself always having to sacrifice what I consider “must haves” for a good vaporizer, such as taste, charge and storage. Which was why I was excited to try out the Summit vaporizer from Vapium.com

Along with the Summit, the box also contained a dry bag, cleaning kit, pipe cleaners, and USB cable.

Rocking in at only 5 inches long, the Summit is the perfect size to fit any pocket, or bag. I was sent the green version, which looks really nice and feel strangely outdoorsy. Which is what Vapium want, they have advertised the Summit as a rugged vaporizer, for the outdoor types.

The entire device has a really clean straight look to it, giving it a very minimal, almost military design.  The top features the mouthpiece, along the front are three buttons, the bigger logo bearing button acts as the power switch ( with a long-press), and two “volume” buttons for controlling the temperature.

Between the temperature and power button is the Summits temperature LED display, these 4 lights help you to see the temperature selected. Finally at the bottom is the magnetic cap, which when removed allows you to get to the heating chamber. The magnetic cap also features a little anchor, connecting it to the Summit, so it won’t be lost.

As the Summit is meant as a portable on-the-go vaporizer, the heating chamber is relatively small. I managed to get around 0.5g of my selected herb into the chamber. Though this comes with benefits, as the small amount is heated evenly, and there is no need to move it around.

Around the back on the bottom, is the charging port for the Summit, and its micro-usb! No need to buy multiple proprietary chargers just for your Summit, you can use your phone charger, or whatever you have around the house. The micro-USB port has a rubber cap on to protect it, this is neither magnetized on or anchored in like the other caps. A bad sign is that they sell these caps on the website – vapium.com/usb-cap, which means they obviosuly know people will lose them.

I found the Summit which is a conduction style vape really easy to use, holding down the power button activated it with a little vibrate notification, then I just wait for the subtle vibrate to notify me its heated. The whole process from onto heated took around 45 secs. The heating options you have are 160, 338, 170, 190, 200, 210, 220, and 230 degrees C. For me I found 190c was the optimum temperature, when I went hotter it just turned into a bit of a bonfire. Though the Summit makes it easy to remember the best temperature as its based on the LED highlighted.

The auto off feature means that you don’t run the risk of torching your house if you fall asleep while vaping.
