With a material L like design, Root Check certainly is a fantastic application to look at. We’re starting to get a glimpse now of the top developers around implementing the new guide lines published by Google at I/O 2014. As a user and reviewer myself, I’m still getting to grips with all the new changes in how these should be presented on our end. I’m sure everyone by now has seen the new colour palette being used which takes a pretty drastic step away from Holo. This has been a big debate around the internetz but personally.. I like it. Onto the app it’s self…

(You’ll notice the theme and status bar tint are a different colour than the rest of the screen shots on screen 2. A colour picker is available in the settings.)

Root Checker offers users a clean and fast method to see if their device has root rights. You don’t know what root is? Root Checker has you covered. The application includes a summary of what root is, how to gain root, Frequently Asked Questions and links to applications once rooted. The developer, JRummy has a plethora of apps on Google Play, he is widely known in Android circles and could be called a trusted and valuable developer in the community. You’ll find links to his own apps and those he would recommend for you to download inside Root Checker.

Likely not aimed at the more advanced user but sometimes one can have issues detecting if he/she still has root, possibly after updating or something. In my own opinion I’d guess the developer has just tested his skills of implementing the new Material Design language and built an application that turned out to be the best in field of what it exactly offers. I’ve used a few of these apps before and every one of them are slow, clunky and ugly as hell. JRummy just came along and made all the rest obsolete with his first version of Root Checker. Would I recommend grabbing this app? Yes! Should you give a five star review on Google Play Store? Yes! Should you leave a comment and tell the developer how pretty and useful his app is? You’re darn right!!
