[root] Servicely Android App
If you’re rooted you’ll be able to select which services or apps you wanna kill automagically. The app runs a simple service every X seconds (default is 60s) and checks if those services that you’ve selected are alive. If they are – BOOM – good night. A small detail though, if that service or app is running on the foreground this app won’t kill it. It’s a small safety measure because you don’t want apps that you’re using to close on you. F. Franco
I’ve been using Servicely since the app first launched. Having applications running in the background was becoming an issue, (for some reason Chrome Beta was keeping my device awake), it was only after I killed it automagically with Servicely that I released the potential. Not having used the likes of Greenify or any Xposed Modules in a while, I was a little reluctant, but, I can tell you this app does one job and it does it very well. Sometimes users don’t want silly added “features read as BLOAT” or bells and whistles that result in poor performance. Things like that actually defy the point of what the app was supposed to do in the first place. Looking at you Gingerbread style Task Killers and cleaner apps.
[root] Servicely offers:
- It’s free
- Kills system apps/services
- Material design
- Way smaller memory footprint
- Runs every X seconds instead of only when screening off. All operations are done on the background thread so system interactivity isn’t affected
The developer offers the pro features for free simply by enabling, although an In-App Purchase is available to donate to future development and projects at £1.70 GBP. Francisco Franco is a well known Android developer, not just applications on the Play Store but custom kernels for masses of devices. Still under active development with tweaks, added little features and bug fixing, you can be sure Francisco won’t stray far from the objective Servicely set out to accomplish. Killing services automagically.
