SmartWallit Pro – Review

Wallet, keys and phone. This chant can be heard all over the world, while people go to work, the shops or steel mill. This is normally done with a sort of ancient dance that involves patting each pocket on your clothing. This will now become a thing of the past with SmartWallit Pro! This device which fits in your wallet is still 20 days from the Kickstarter end date, but is already $70,000 over its initial goal amount. I was very lucky enough to get a review version of this, and was able to test it out. By linking to your phone via Bluetooth, you are able to keep track of your wallet from your phone. If you misplace your wallet, you can ring it from your phone and the SmartWallit Pro will emit a sharp loud beep till you find it. If you leave your wallet at starbucks, your phone will notify you that your wallet has been left behind. Dont know where you were when you lost it? This device also includes an app, which will show you the last location and time of your wallet.

As you can tell from the “Pro”, there was a device before this one, the SmartWallit. This is surpassed by this Pro version with new features such as it being thinner and now easily fits inside your wallet, it offers a more stable connection and a more friendly app design. It also allows cloud synchronization, no disturb mode, and a distance view.

The SmartWallit Pro app allows a no nonsense setup. Simply open the app and it will turn on the bluetooth connection allowing it to connect to the SmartWallit Pro. This app then allows all the cool features to work. Such as the lost wallet/phone scenario, if you leave your wallet behind your phone will buzz, but if you leave your phone behind the wallet will buzz. This is fantastic, as so many similar devices only do it one way. But now you know if you have one you will always have the other.

If you do misplace your wallet, you have two methods of finding it. One being the loud buzz you can make it do on command, and you also get a distance meter, meaning you can tell how close or far away you are. Another feature is that when you use your wallet, the app will record this action using its proximity and light sensor to push a signal to your phone. With that information, your phone will be able to record when and where you last used your wallet.

Along with the obvious looking for your wallet, this function also introduces a brand new way to manage your finances. For example when you open your wallet, the app will ask you to enter in the payment details. These means over days, months and years, you can track when and where you spend money.

This device has only 20 days left on Kickstarter, its solid, it works and it works well. You need to get on the ground floor for this, as I think it’s going to be big. The creator has even whispered about the posibility of a similar keys device. The SmartWallit Pro comes in a variety of colours and fits nicely into your wallet, and your life. It becomes an after thought, it just sits there in the background until you need to use it.

  1. To all potential backers. Do not fund this project any further. Read through the comments and issues and complete lack of customer service from this developer.

You are not buying from a store. You are trusting this developer with your money and they are not worthy of that trust.
