Twin Rabbit Battle – Review

Twin Rabbit Battle is the second game from DinoMerguez, a French developer poetically against the In-App-Purchase system and also against hipster mustaches. So what’s not to love?

This is a mobile card game, a quickly growing genre, in which you battle to go up a ladder in order to gain new cards and set a higher score. You will start off losing a lot of matches until you collect a few bonus cards and higher numbered cards but stick with it, once you get those good cards the game is rather enjoyable.

The Rabbits give you a quick tutorial on the different game modes and what the bonus cards do, which is nice as I’ve not played a game like this before. To progress up the ladder you have to spend a card, you can use high card numbers and hope for good luck in battles or chose low card numbers and win more battles. I found the ladder a great way to get rid of my lower cards, but I’m sure you will work out what works best for you. As you go up the ladder the matches get a bit harder as they have more rounds and you are able to play second bonus cards. Bonus cards have pixel style artwork of different animals such as chickens, squirrels, bears and so on. The bonuses include extra stars to help seal the win, extra damage or even swap card stats. So you will be wanting to get as many of these in your deck as possible.

The games, if you’re as bad as me, are nice and short so they are perfect for toilet time or waiting for someone. Whilst I cannot see myself playing this game for hours at a time, I have kept it on my phone to waste time every now and again.

Not every game is perfect and this one has a few points that could be addressed.

The game links to facebook and not Google Play Services so whilst you can achieve an amazing high score unless you’re on facebook no one will know. Also this means there are no achievements which is a big shame for a ladder based game. The other thing I would see as an improvement would be to enable the player to edit their deck in order to remove the low end cards you really really don’t want. Apart from those little points it’s free and is well worth installing. Download widget below!!!
