Banzai Surfer

By tapping or releasing the screen with just one finger, you can jump, dive, paddle and accelerate your surfer with astonishingly high precision. Countless achievements and power-ups wait to be unlocked during the game.
Awesome locations like Easter Island, Volcano and Emirates as well as many cool surfboard designs ensure that Banzai Surfer will not get boring too soon for anyone

An endless runner type game, that you’ll know well, think Temple Run, Beach Buggy Blitz etc etc. Get as far as you can collecting coins, unlocks, treasure chests and so on. Watch out for the big bad shark, he’s coming behind you and he’s gonna bite your ass. The game is easily played. It’s just a matter of timing your jumps and diving underwater at the right time, maybe hitch a ride on a friendly Dolphin.

Graphics and game play are spot. Everything runs smooth on my Nexus7 2012. Nice bright colours and catchy background music which I find appealing. The menu above is easy to navigate with everything simple to find from the off. Jumping straight in to the action you’ll be given a handy tutorial of how to play. Basically don’t let the Shark catch you and grab as much as you can on the way. It’s one of those titles that you have to keep going from the start, some runs will be good and you’ll beat your highest score, others you won’t. (There’s no Goggle Play Game Services here or no way to share, so it feels like your competing with yourself. Introduction says “you won’t bore quckly. I’m not so sure about that.)

IAP (In App Purchases) are present for buying new boards and special powerups etc. I haven’t felt a sudden urge to spend real money yet and any real money parted with gets rid of the ads. That’s fine with me. Also worth mentioning that in the free version once you finish a run, a ugly big advert pops up offering free coins. It’s gross and frigging terrible. Feels like you’re being driven to pay for the full version.

All in all, a fun game but adverts and real money options everywhere. To be sure you’d be happy to spend your hard earned, I’d suggest getting the free version first. Once happy go pro. For some strange reason, trying to do so leads to a Play Store error but you can view the development team’s games from the main menu, where you can purchase with a bit of discount.

Below is the link for the free version, with ads. Go take a look first, if you think you’ll enjoy playing Banzai Surfer, go and pay for the full version then. The more I’m pushed to buy a game (Usually this isn’t an issue because I must have 100’s of games I’ve purchased) the more I don’t want to. The quality of a game should stand on it’s own merits. I know that reads very negative but this is a good game and I’d recommend giving it a go and seeing for yourself.
