When you turn on the screen – the application enables a mobile data / WiFi
In the background, while the screen is off, every 15 minutes enables a synchronization of your Google Plus, Twitter, etc. for 30 seconds.
I stumbled across this fugly app when looking for something to turn data off when my screen goes off. I’m currently working in a different area than I usually do and noticed my data reception isn’t great. When I turn my screen on I notice my reception jumping around trying to get a good service and thought maybe I’d turn it off when I’m not using it. Anyway… This lead me to Battery Saver. It does exactly what I want but doesn’t win any awards for user interface or user experience. It’s as ugly as a Badger’s rear end. Not completely sure of the developers claims of increasing battery life from 1.5 to 4 days. I’m not seeing anything like that, if I’m honest you’ll get an extra few hours. Maybe other users will see different results. I’d recommend using the trial version first to see if it works for you, if not delete and forget about it.
