There are an estimated SEVEN BILLION people on Earth, a HUNDRED MILLION black market weapons, TEN MILLION bad guys, and against it all… FOUR ass-kicking, money-hungry mercs! Command the toughest squad in the world while taking on crime lords and corrupt dictators in this ruthless bullet-fest!
When no one else can help, it’s time to call in… GUNS 4 HIRE!!
GET IN. WRECK IT. GET PAID.
GUNS 4 HIRE is free to play, but you can choose to pay real money for some extra items, which will charge your Google Play account. You can disable in-app purchasing by adjusting your device settings.
Gameplay & Story
In 1972, a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn’t commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire.. But there’s no BA here. You control 4 soldiers around what I guess is the Middle East (desert towns setting) blasting everything in your path but also with an objective in mind from your commanding officer from the briefing before each level. All very simple and familiar if you have played point and click games before. Deactivate bombs, blow stuff up, clear areas etc etc…
In-App-Purchases and In-Game currency.
In no way do In-App-Purchases effect this game. You can easily get along just fine with what you earn. The main currency for buying weapon upgrades, health packs and ammo are Diamonds and cash. Get cash for completing objectives, get paid, buy new stuff, move on to the next level.
Replayability
In my opinion this is a game that might last a week or 2. There seems to be little added extras like buying (with Diamonds and cash, not real money) Most Wanted Cards and extra objectives that add some more depth that other titles of it’s type, don’t. You could easily play a few levels on the train to work then home again. I’m not sure it’s a game of epic proportions but it certainly has a certain fun factor and a bit of a lure to play another level before you turn it off.
Graphics & Performance
Zero issues here, for me. Tested and played on the Nexus7 and Nexus4. Both devices handled the action well when a lot is happening on screen. Jets dropping bombs, your team blasting and the enemy shooting you from all over. I honestly didn’t notice any frame drops and 100 % lag free.
The cut scenes can get a little repetitive, if I’m honest. Also the menus could do with a bit more help from the game because it’s slightly confusing at the start.
Guns 4 hire has only been supported on the Nexus7 in today’s update. I actually contacted the developer and asked what was happening in regards. I’ll not take the credit though. I’m sure they had it in the pipeline. If you’re looking for a point and click game to waste 30 minutes on the train, and that has no adverts.
