Hive Defense (Multiplayer,) Game Review.

Hive Defense

Help bees save their hive against angry insects attack! Tap on flowers with blossom to collect honey. More taps – more honey. But be careful, because angry insects will attack your hive. You will fight with 6 different types of enemies, including bugs, caterpillars, ant and spiders. Play in two hands to defend a hive. Use Bee Queen mega power button to stop invasion. An alluring game for young and old which is colourful and very simple to play but gets demanding pretty quick. You’ll be asking your kids or your wife to come give you a hand, very soon.

Gameplay

A button bashing game, of sorts but here you are pressing on the insects to stop then getting into your hive. Different insects  require a different amount of presses to kill them, whilst, still trying to send your worker bees out to collect honey. Soon there’ll be insects all over the place and you’ll be hitting all parts of your screen trying to kill’em, quick. (You may feel like a master Ninja about now with your lightening fast hands and reflexes. Maybe that’s just me) You’ll certainly attract attention to yourself if you plan on playing in a more public place. Rest assured people will stare or ask what’s going on.

You build your score by how many bees come back with the honey, this adds a score which you see on the hive. Whilst you are being attacked and the nasty insects invade, your score goes down. You have a cool kill them all button which can be activated if things get too much. <Bee Queen>

Looks and presentation

A very pleasing on the eye game, with an easy to navigate menu system. Nice soft colours, a warm and friendly atmosphere, a fair bit of polish and a very catchy soundtrack make this a game for all. You’ll be impressed!

Responsiveness

This is my only issue… I’m fairly certain that the game misses my presses or I could not be hitting the insects exactly spot on. If someone else experiences the same, please let us know. With a lot of stuff going on all over the screen and yourself  bashing away like a lunatic, presses can be missed. Might be my hardware (tested and enjoyed using the Nexus 7.) Although I’ve never noticed anything like that before. It doesn’t happen much though.

Replayability

Sure, why not? Maybe your children will enjoy playing it with you, one of you take the top half of the screen the other take the bottom half. (This is where Multiplayer comes in) Options are present for sharing your score on Facebook or Twitter but no Google Plus, as always. You may want to keep coming back to beat your high score or enjoy an occasional go when you have a spare 5 minutes.
