Honor celebrates 1-year anniversary

The mobile brand recaps its 12 successful months in Europe with some key milestones. Five smartphone models and a dedicated e-commerce platform launched in just one year.

London, Germany, October 29, 2015 – Honor, the smartphone e-brand for digital natives, is celebrating its 1-year European anniversary. The sister brand of Huawei entered the European market in October 2014 and took the mobile sector by storm with its e-commerce focused, unique business model. Honor is the first mobile brand to base its distribution channel on online platforms, its own store vMall and partners including Amazon, bol.com, EURO, Alza, extreme digital, Komplett and Lelong.

 

During the first 12 months in Europe, Honor has introduced eight distinct products for different needs and budgets targeted at the digital native audience, including:

  • honor 6 (October 2014) – the first high-end smartphone from Honor, which introduced the European audience to the new brand.
  • honor holly (February 2015) – the best option for the budget conscious digital natives. Honor holly is an affordable, beautifully designed device, that packs everything you need for the digital age.
  • honor 4X (March 2015) – the –best choice for gamers, a powerful smartphone thanks to its 64-bit processor and long-lasting battery.
  • honor 6+ ­(March 2015) –  the flagship device from the brand, showcasing a dual-lens camera that can turn anyone into a professional photographer.
  • honor 7 (August 2015) – the latest addition to the honor smartphone range, a high-end smartphone with an incredible fingerprint sensor. The first shipment of the device sold out within one day from launch!

Honor has also announced a brand new wearable device for the wrist – honor band Z1 – which will be available in Europe from November 2015 via vMall and later through the usual online channels. The ultimate fashion device will provide users with the ability to easily and accurately monitor their performance when exercising or during sporting activities. The wearable also offers sleep quality monitoring and calling reminding among other useful functions. It is compatible with Android devices.

The big milestone for Honor has been the launch of its own, dedicated online shopping platform – vMall. Opened this August in Europe, vMall is the main e-commerce point of contact for Honor and Huawei customers and fans. There users can find a wide portfolio of top products from both brands, as well as benefit from special limited offers and flash sales.

Noting the importance of providing its fans with latest cutting-edge software Honor is bringing an Android Marshmallow software upgrade to users of its smartphones. In December 2015 Honor will roll out beta tests to honor 7 customers and will make the upgrade available to all users of honor 7, honor 6+, honor 6 and honor 4X smartphones across Europe starting from January through Q1 2016 via hihonor.com website.

Honor is available in 74 regions and countries across the world, including presence in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain and The Netherlands. Its overseas shipments are reaching 3 million units out of the total 20 million in the first half of 2015, a leading position compared to other domestic Internet mobile phone brands.
