Code-named M9, the new phone from HTC features a 20-megapixel rear camera and an HTC UltraPixel front camera. The smartwatch (Un-named so far) will link with Under Armour Inc.’s (UA) fitness service, building on a partnership announced earlier this month.

Its new phone resembles last year’s M8 in size and design, with gold, gray and silver options, and features Qualcomm Inc.’s eight-core Snapdragon 810 processor, which has advanced video capabilities. The device includes Dolby Laboratories Inc.’s Dolby 5.1 audio technology and HTC’s latest Sense 7 user interface with improved location-based services.

Well 9 does come after 8. Someone who doesn’t want to identified has passed this information on to Bloomberg but from the information gathered we’d be pretty sure that most of this can be guessed by even the average technology enthusiast anyway. It’s widely known by most that the UltraPixel used in the HTC One M8 wasn’t on par with it’s peers, other manufactures went with the more pixels is better. Samsung, Sony and even LG phones from 2014 had better cameras, being honest. M8 users might disagree though. Dolby 5.1 audio combined with dual cannons on the front will likely blow our socks off, this is something we are all looking forward to in 2015.

Regarding the smartwatch… Not much is really known yet but a fitness service will be included at launch, we don’t know if it will be a square or circle face. Will HTC use Sense to theme over Android Wear? Changeable straps? Battery? Display type? So many questions to answer but we’ll know soon enough when this is all announced at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona 2-5 March.

  1. Happily manufacturers can’t theme over Android Wear. If they use it they have to implement it as Google intended.
