New Poll – Are you wearing wearable tech?

Love it, hate it, loath it, fear it or don’t really know enough about it but 2014 is going to be a big year for “wearable technology.” More and more early adapters are getting Google’s Glass which has many features to extend how we use our devices in daily life. Some groups and organisations fear it but mostly they don’t understand why users wear them. Fears of videoing people without their consent. (A toy spy camera could be bought for $20 and you could secretly film people with that. That argument is invalid) Without getting in to a debate on such matters, this week’s poll will ask our readers if they own a Smartwatch, Glass or other. We’d love to read your thoughts if that piece of technology adds things to your daily routine. Maybe you just ordered the new Pebble Steel because you have to have the newest toys and love to be on the cutting edge.

Sundar Pichai (senior vice president of Chrome, Android and apps at Google) said..

“In two weeks we are launching the first developer SDK for Android [wearables]. That will lay out the vision for developers in how we see this market working,” Pichai said. “When we think of wearables, we think of it as a platform. We see a world of sensors. Sensors can be small and powerful and gather a lot of information that can be useful for users. We want to build the right APIs for this world of sensors.”

Chief Editor of DroidHorizon. I own a few different devices at the minute and enjoy writing reviews and sharing what I think is cool. You can often find me playing Playstation 4 or sprawled across the couch with headphones on (maybe with a nice beer or gin & tonic in-hand)
