Review: Ergotron Workfit-T Sit Stand Workstation

As an office working, I am normally sitting down from 8am till 5:30pm, which is almost 10 hours of sitting. So I do like to stand up when on the phone, yet typing is then difficult as I have to bend over. The Workfit-T from Ergotron is a solution for this problem, as it allows me to lift up my screen, keyboard and mouse to standing height and allows me to work even while standing. My back has even started to feel better with this new ability.

When the Workfit-T arrived I thought there would have to be some form of assembly, but when I opened the box it was all in one piece. So all I had to do was place it on my desk and start piling my stuff on top of it. I went for the black colour, though it does also come in white. Though it is big, it doesn’t really take up that much real estate on the desk, and had more then enough room, for my screen and phone.

There are cable tidying tools included, such as a cable ties and a “tube” for the cables to all run through. I was slightly limited as I didn’t have as much slack as I would’ve liked, so had to choose not to use the cable ties.

I had heard from other people that the keyboard tray is quite small, yet it was more than enough space for the Logitech Orion and Steelseries Apex keyboards I have. At the moment I am happily using the Steelseries Apex keyboard along with the Logitech Master MX mouse. Then the top is currently supporting my phone, charging cables and my 24″ monitor.

As I said before, installation was an absolute breeze. Take it out of the box (with a friends help), then place it on the desk. Once all the tech is on top, you can then pull the two side levers and lift up the desk. The springs allow for a smooth rise and fall of the desk, no matter what weight is on top.

I have been using the Workfit-T for a month, and rise it at least 6 times a day, and it has shown absolutely no wear, and still works as great as it did when I got it out the box. The whole Workfit-T is incredibly well made, and is really solid. When raised to the top height, it has no movement on the sides and doesn’t rattle about.

I think every desk should have a Workfit-T on it. For £275 its an investment, but I can see the Workfit-T following me through many years and different jobs, and still keep going with no problems.
