I spend the whole of my work day with headphones on listening to music. Specifically, the Motorola S-10HD bluetooth headphones. So I thought these ZealSound HDE-100 in-ear wood headphones would be a nice change to see how they perform in comparison. Right off the top, these the ZealSound HDE-100 headphones have great sound. The clarity of sound is crisp and clean and delivers quality. Granted, I’ve never thought the S-10HD’s were all that great in terms of sound, so the ZealSounds blew me away as small earbuds. The wood housing opens up your music to deliver great acoustical sound into your ear hole.
These are not only a great sounding product, but they also present as a high end design. Made of natural wood, these headphones lend themselves to a premium look. The headphones use a fiber braided cable that defends against knotting and grants more durability in comparison to the cheaper traditional wired headphone material. Integrated into the wire is a mic for taking calls w/o pulling out your device.
Comfort within the ear was a bit of an issue for me, which in my case is not uncommon with some earbuds. The ZealSound headphones came with 3 different silicone ear tips, none seemed to remedy the problem of keeping the earbuds in for any length of time. However, I was able use them on a regular basis over the last couple weeks, prior to this review.
Personally, my choice for headphones will always be something bluetooth. But overall, these are great sounding headphones. I enjoyed using them, and would definitely recommend them if in-ear headphones are your preference.
