Samsung Galaxy Nexus Leather Wallet Case Review

I may not have many leather bound books like Ron Burgundy, but I do have a leather bound book style wallet case for my Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Here are a few of the specifics of this wallet case.

  • Contains 2 credit card slots.
  • Removable 360 degrees belt clip included.
  • Opens and closes with magnetic studs, for ease of use.
  • White stitch finishing, making this case look more beautiful.

The PDair branded case has a nice look to it when on the hip. The volume, power buttons are easily accessible, as well as the micro USB when needing a charge. You’ll also have no problem plugging in your headphones. Although, if you’re on the go and have the case attached to the included belt clip, plugging in to the 3.5mm headphone jack may not be ideal as it will have to plug into the bottom since the case hangs vertical and there is no adjustment for horizontal use. I personally use nothing but Bluetooth headphones, so this is a non-issue for me. The easy to open, magnetic snap give you quick access to two slots that can hold a couple credit cards, should you choose this over or in addition to a traditional wallet. I came to find out that based on my own use that I often inadvertently snap open the wallet case as I go about my day.  This can of course be attributed to me being left handed, and placing the case on my left side with the magnetic snap facing forward. This wouldn’t be a problem for anyone right handed, I’m sure.

Now let’s talk a bit about the size and fit of the book style wallet case. Off the top, it’s a little bulky for my taste, but thats just me.  Also upon sliding the Galaxy Nexus in and out of its holder I noticed it was a very snug fit. That’s great if you don’t want it to fall out of course, but if you need it out then you have a problem. You can’t just reach to your hip, unsnap, grab the phone with two fingers and pull out. You literally have to take the case off the belt clip, hold the case with one hand and use the other hand to pull out the phone. This leather case is definitely a super tight fit. For the 2 weeks I used it I saw no change in the ease of removal. Maybe over months of wear and tear this would get easier, but who want to wait that long. That was my main issue with the case.

Overall it’s a decent book style wallet case. The business professional in you would feel comfortable wearing this for the look of the handmade black leather and it’s white stitching. But if you’re looking for a very functional, easy to use, non-bulky case, you may want to look at something different.

You can purchase this wallet case from MyTrendyPhone.co.uk  priced at £19.90 GBP.

I write a couple things every now and then. I'm glad to have my small corner. My posts will consist of reviews, current news from the Android/Google/Tech world, and maybe my thoughts on a subject for you to agree or disagree. Enjoy!
