Save The Snail – Review

Save The Snail

Snails. Whether you consider them to be garden pests or french delicacies, they could never be considered one of natures hardiest creatures. They may look down on their slug cousins for their lack of a protective shell, but how much protection does that shell actually give in a world with birds, salt and Dr. Martin boots?

And so we must save the snails in this physics based puzzler. In this world the snails need to worry about a shower of rocks that inexplicably fall from the sky or a sweep of death rays from the sun. The idea of the game is to get your snails underneath some shelter, all the while avoiding some nasty traps.

There’s no tutorial here, you just start playing and you’re on your own figuring out what you need to do (although it isn’t that difficult). You have no direct control of the snails, but need to drop a selection of items to get them out of harm’s way such as coins, matchboxes or buttons. Dropping in the right location will move objects to shield the snails or start them rolling. There are also some pieces of cheese available to attract your snails (apparently snails like cheese???).

The game tests your logical thinking and is quite good fun. It doesn’t take that long to play through the 24 levels, but to get 3 stars in each level you’ll need to collect bonus objects and finish within the time limit. While saving the snails is unlikely to take over your life, it’s a fun diversion and available free from the link below.
