Shieldon specialise in offering a selection of cases for Apple and Samsung phones. Today I’m taking a look at their genuine leather wallet style case for the S7 Edge.
It has a fold-over front cover with pockets for three credit cards and some notes. It gives the impression of a premium product, coming in really nice packaging with a cloth pouch inside a fancy slide-out cardboard box.
The black cow-hide leather (tan also available) is well stitched and seems really nice quality (including that real leather smell). Based on leather cases I’ve had in the past I’d expect it to be very durable. There’s a distinctive Shieldon logo on the front with “feel the nature” embossed on the inside cover. This makes it look stylish compared to many of the generic cases available.
The S7 Edge slips easily into the plastic bracket which holds it in place by the corners. The edges, buttons and the areas along the top and bottom are left exposed. However as the leather extends out a little farther, everything should still be protected when the case is closed. There’s also a well positioned cut-out for the camera on the back.
For a wallet style case this seems fairly slim and the matte surface of the leather feels great in the hand. A magnetic strip holds the case closed and is strong enough to do its job during a fall. This case can also be folded into a stand that props up the phone in the landscape position – ideal for watching video on your phone.
