There are a few apps in the Play Store for mixing music on your phone or tablet, but as far as I know, this is the first Holo themed one. It’s also the cleanest, most user friendly mixing app I’ve tried. It’s basic, there are no pitch controls, no scratching, no fancy effects, and no record function, but that’s why it works. Simple and practical.
And it’s free. Though there is a donate version for €0.99, exactly the same as the free version, it’s just a way to support the developer. Well worth purchasing in my opinion.
Currently, you are limited to either the music stored on your device, or USB OTG, no streaming from the cloud, but you can create and save your own playlists for each “deck”, hit Auto Next, and it will actually do the mixing for you while you sit back and down a few beers with your mates lol.
Browsing and adding tracks to your decks, or your playlists if you want the app to mix for you is as easy as it gets. Tap on the grey + icon on the upper left of the relevant deck to add a track, or tap on the deck’s Playlist to add a selection of tracks so you can auto mix. Each deck has it’s own 5 band equalizer, which is turned off by default. Manual mixing is a breeze thanks to the simple controls and big slider.
Pair this app with a Bluetooth Stereo adapter and an amp, and provided you store your music locally, or have a USB OTG adapter and a thumb drive, you get an extremely convenient setup for mixing with ease.
