Do you like colors? Do you like dots? And what about colored dots?
If your answer is yes then join the community and play dotdot
an exciting and colorful game about popping dots.
Sometimes I prefer the simpler games. Games that suit a phone/ tablet when I don’t feel I need a damn controller in my hand. A game that’s made to be played on a touch screen and you can do so with one finger or your big toe. ( Exaggerating slightly now but you could.) dotdot really has me addicted. So simple but so hard at the same time.
Gameplay
Pop the dots and match the colours to the bonus bar or the time bar for more time. You can go in all directions popping a chain of dots as you match’em up. Pop as many as you can before the time runs out. All very simple. The developer has even included instructions under ‘How To Play.’ With Google Play Game Services you can then share your scores to your circles to show-off. Have a look in the ‘Achievements’ tab too. Loads of easy ones to get that makes things even more rewarding.
Looks and presentation
Easy to navigate and very pleasing on the eye, I really like the direction the developer went. Such a clean and minimal approach that really ties in with what the game is about. Zero issues in that department, for me. A quick nosey through the settings and you’ll know where everything is and what it does. A special mention towards the ‘Theme’ section. Here, you can customise the colour of the dots, (which are nicely named) and the colour of the background. That deep black looks absolutely fantastic on the Galaxy S4! Honestly.
Replayability
dotdot is in the grab-&-go section. The games don’t last very long but you’ll be straight back at it again. It has a certain lure to beat your scores and keep an eye what your friends are scoring on Google Plus (and in-game.) Certainly easy to play but tough to master,a game for all ages. Mr’s B has now taken a like to the game, so there goes my Nexus7 again. (She uses it more than me.) With ‘Leaderboards’ and pretty simple enough ‘Achievements’ you’ll want to get stuck in. A quick 5 minutes play, turns into 30 minutes. I love when a game does that.
Conclusion
I really couldn’t recommend dotdot more. So much fun but can be frustrating when you do so well in one game then rubbish the next. Call it luck of the draw, which dots appear or whatever. I’ve shared my thoughts on Google Play Game Services and really like the achievements here, not too tough but rewarding, all the same. You’ll have to put in a few hours game time to get some high scores, I can’t even imagine how people in the public section got those results.
A simple game with no adverts or nonsense like that. Go grab it and see if you can beat my score.
