Tech21 M8 Impact Shell – Review

As I am always on the search for the next best case, I was excited to try out the Impact Shell for my HTC One M8 from Techg21. The case comes in four different colors: smokey, red, purple and pink, though it will cost you £24.99. Now I know that may seem like a lot, however Tech21 has proven time and time again that their products are worth the cost.

I was a bit hesitant about this case, the colour put me off a little bit, but when I removed it from the packaging and onto the phone my opinion changed. The case feels great, a line of bulk/protection surround the side of the phone. There is nothing to the back of the phone and means that its not bursting out of your pocket. I’m not used to cases that work in this way, and was pleasantly surprised as it meant that there was adequate protection without too much bulk.

The two ports at the bottom of the phone are easy to access, with only a cover to protect them from the elements. The volume rocker can still be used easily and hasn’t been a problem for me. The power button along the top can be accessed easily and as yet I havent miss pressed it.

The case itself is a see-thru red, so you can still see the lovely M8 in all its glory. Though now it looks like something you’d see in an Amsterdam window! The material use is great and adds a lot of grip to the phone, and stops it from sliding around my desk.

Overall, the Impact Shell looks great and it slides easily out of my pocket without getting stuck. The best thing about the Impact Shield is the size it adds (or doesn’t add) to the phone. It fits the M8 like a glove and hardly adds any bulk to the phone. The Impact Shell is a must have, and a great deal.

Impactology cases protect phones from accidental drops or falls by absorbing the impact. There’s a range of products available for Apple iPhone 6, 5s, 5, Samsung Galaxy S4, Samsung Note3, Nexus 5 and Apple iPOD.

  1. Seems kinda pricey.

    • I agree the price is rather high. But it’s one of the less bulky cases I have had, and it offers a level of protection you can’t get with a cheaper case.
