Google Play, commenting and feedback

I’ll be honest, I’m not sure why but I very rarely leave reviews on Google Play. I honestly don’t know why but from today, I will be more keen to.

I’m sure most Google Plus users have seen which apps/games/icon packs, I’ve plused. I usually just do this after I download whatever it is I’m looking for but if it turns out not to be good, I’ll remove the +1. On thinking about this… That’s the opportunity to leave my feedback so others users can see why I did or why I un-installed. Maybe after using the app/game/ icons whatever for an hour or so, I should be thinking about opening Google Play and actively leaving a review or a quick comment on why I like it and a nice thank you.  <insert smile face with sunglasses>

Reviews help everyone, in my opinion.

  • The Developer… A positive or negative review can be used to see what/where needs fixed, potential new features that end users may require. A comment like “It’s rubbished!! Uninstalled!”Doesn’t help anyone.
  • The End User… Self – explanatory really. Help other users understand what said content is, is it what you’d expect? What needs improved. Is it worth the price?

2 applications recently have made me think about this.. Remember that supposed BlackBerry IM app? It was fake but users said it was the real deal when clearly it wasn’t. Turned out to be info on when it was going to be released or something. I wasn’t that interested but would have tested it to see what it was like.  The other occasion was just today. Dave from the team shared an app with a hefty rice tag and on reading the reviews left by other users we/I decided not to buy it. That’s helpful and reasonable reviews from people that did buy and I made the decision not to. That’s comments and feedback used properly.

Do our readers leave comments? Will you be more actively thinking about doing so?

Chief Editor of DroidHorizon. I own a few different devices at the minute and enjoy writing reviews and sharing what I think is cool. You can often find me playing Playstation 4 or sprawled across the couch with headphones on (maybe with a nice beer or gin & tonic in-hand)
